One Lucky Chukar Bird.
Washington State’s Cherry & Berry Company ‘Chukar Cherries’, were handed a real live Chukar bird earlier this year.
A young lad and his dad arrived at the Chukar Cherries store and asked the company if they could adopt the bird.
Pam Montgomery, the founder, was quoted as saying “We’re pleased to have a real Chukar bird as a mascot after so long in the business.”

- The cherry and berry company was started in 1988.
- The founder picked the Chukar Bird To symbolise the company.
- The Chukar Partridge, originally from Asia, eats Northwest sweet cherries.
- The Chukar game bird prefers the craggy slopes and arid climates you’ll find in the Northwest.
- It’s the ideal symbol for Chukar Cherries with it’s noticeable cherry red beak and legs.
- They also have very unique and gorgeous vertical bar markings.
- The chukar partridge is an aerial stuntmaster and racehorse in the flatlands.
- Chukar Cherries is an ideal habitat for Chukars.
- With their headquartered situated in the arid Columbia Valley, surrounded by vineyards and cherry orchards.
- They’ve aptly named the mascot “Cheri” .
- There’s is a custom built aviary out front of Chukar headquarters in Prosser , built by Dave Bender who is a longtime associate.
- Cheri’s current duty is to welcome visitors.
